Project Overview
When winter comes, there’s nothing worse than turning on your furnace, only to realize it’s not working. Recently, we were called out to a job where a customer’s furnace had completely stopped functioning. The root cause? Well, that’s what we were supposed to find and fix. Spoiler: everything went well and the customer is now happy and warm. Read below what we had to do to during this San Jose repair case by Fuse Service to restore the heating balance in this home.
Step-by-Step Repair Process
Diagnosing the Issue
When we arrived at the site, the furnace wasn’t turning on at all. After a thorough inspection, we determined that the control board was defective. As well as its main operations like the ignition and the gas valve, so without it, the furnace is as good as useless.
Replacing the Control Board and Pilot
Once we found the faulty control board, we replaced it with a new one. We also replaced the furnace pilot (the important part of the system that ignites the burners and keeps the furnace running). Things seemed to be almost done, but then we noticed another problem.
fixing the Gas Leak
After replacing the control board and pilot, we realized there was a gas leak. This is a serious issue that not just affects furnace performance—it also poses safety risks. We found the source of the leak and replaced the necessary parts to make sure the furnace was running both efficiently and safely.
Outcome of the Repair
Once the control board and leaking components were replaced, the furnace was back up and running smoothly. The customer now has a safe and efficient heating system—just in time for the cold weather.
