Plumber in San Mateo, CA for Leaks, Drains & Everyday Repairs
Plumber in San Mateo, CA for Leaks, Drains & Everyday Repairs
Small plumbing problems rarely stay that way. A drip under the sink can turn into soaked drywall. A drain that’s a little slow one week can stop completely the next.
If you need a plumber in San Mateo, Fuse Service is a local team working across San Mateo, CA and the Bay Area. We handle everyday repairs and urgent calls in homes, apartments, restaurants, and offices, from older buildings to newer custom home properties. Fast response really matters. So does getting the job done correctly the first time.
Plumbing Service in San Mateo
Most people don’t call a plumber after they see the first sign of trouble. The sink still drains, just slower than usual. The faucet only leaks at night. Hot water takes an extra minute to arrive. By the time the problem becomes impossible to ignore, the repair is often larger than expected.
Our plumbing services in San Mateo cover repair work, maintenance visits, and system diagnostics for both residential and commercial properties.
Comprehensive Plumbing Repairs
Not every plumbing problem announces itself with a burst pipe. Sometimes it’s a damp cabinet under the sink or a bathroom fixture that hasn’t worked properly for months. Those are the situations we see every day in San Mateo homes. In many San Mateo homes, especially older ones, the issue isn’t always where the water shows up. We handle pipe repair and replacement, leak detection inside walls and ceilings, any faucet and fixture repairs. Every plumbing repair in San Mateo starts with checking where the system is actually failing. Not just where it’s visible.
Plumbing Maintenance Services
Most emergency calls start with systems that haven’t been looked at in years. We as a plumbing contractor check pressure, visible lines, and connection points and look for early signs that something is starting to fail.In older San Mateo properties, this often catches problems before they turn into structural damage.
Sewer Line Services
Slow drains in different rooms or recurring backups are usually the first signs that you may need plumbing services. Multiple slow drains or a smell outside the house is usually the first sign.In areas like San Mateo Park and Beresford, tree roots are a regular cause. They don’t break the pipe overnight. It happens slowly until flow stops.
Drain Cleaning and Unclogging
People often live with a slow drain for weeks before calling a plumber. By that point, buildup inside the line is usually much worse than it appears. Water drains a bit slower, for example, but then suddenly it doesn’t clear at all. And the issue shows up in more than one place at the same time.Chemical cleaners usually don’t solve the deeper buildup. It’s just a temporary solution.
Water Heater Installation and Repair
The first sign is often simple: the water never gets as hot as it used to, or it runs cold much sooner than expected. We check whether repair makes sense or replacement is the better option long term. In older systems, that difference matters.
Emergency Plumbing Services
Some situations can’t wait for a scheduled appointment with a plumbing contractor. Burst pipes, active leaks, or sewer backups need a plumber in San Mateo immediate attention. Damage spreads fast once water is involved. Our San Mateo plumbers handle urgent calls based on availability. Nights and weekends included when possible.
San Mateo Plumbing Has a Few Problems You Don’t See Everywhere
Plumbing in San Mateo isn’t uniform. It changes from street to street.
Older homes with aging pipes
North Central, Hayward Park, and parts of Downtown San Mateo still have plumbing systems that were never fully replaced. Copper aging. Galvanized lines. Old shutoff valves that don’t always respond cleanly.
Tree roots underground
San Mateo Park, Laurelwood, and Beresford have heavy tree coverage. It’s one of the reasons sewer line calls are so common in those areas. Roots follow moisture. Once they find a weak point, they grow inside the line.
Mixed infrastructure in newer zones
Bay Meadows and Hillsdale combine newer construction with older utility layouts nearby. That creates uneven pressure and different pipe conditions within short distances.
Hard water effects over time
Mineral buildup is slow. It affects water heaters, fixtures, and internal pipe flow. Most people only notice when performance drops.

Residential Plumbing Work for San Mateo Kitchens, Baths and Utility Rooms
In residential work, it’s rarely one obvious failure. It’s small things around the house that start getting in the way of normal routines and don’t fix themselves over time. We handle:
Kitchen plumbing repair cases
Bathroom fixture issues
Toilet repair and replacement
Laundry line plumbing
Leak detection inside walls
Garbage disposal repair
Water line adjustments
Our residential plumbers work across San Mateo, including custom home properties where systems are more complex than standard layouts.
Commercial Plumber in San Mateo for Restaurants, Offices, and Managed Properties
In commercial buildings, downtime is the real problem. A blocked restroom in an office or a backed-up kitchen drain in a restaurant needs attention right away, not later in the day. We support:
Restaurants and cafés
Office buildings
Retail spaces
Apartment complexes
Property managers
We’ve handled jobs where kitchens can’t stop running and office restrooms stay in constant use. Grease lines clog, fixtures wear out faster, and water heaters get pushed hard every day. We fix the issue without shutting everything down longer than needed.
Why Plumbing Prices Change From One Job to the Next
Two plumbing jobs cannot be identical. It’s impossible even if the symptom looks the same. A leak under a sink might be a simple seal. Or it might be a pipe inside the wall. Pricing depends on:
Location of the issue
Accessibility
Material type
Repair complexity
Emergency timing
Condition of existing plumbing
That’s why estimates are always based on inspections made by a plumber in San Mateo, not guesswork.

We're just about to have our heat pump and new water heater installed, so I can't speak to that experience yet, but I had to say how helpful their sales rep, Jeff, was with all of my questions to get settled into a plan. I'm one of those people who like to know what's going on line by line, and his patience and knowledge was very appreciated!

I had a need to replace our 50G gas water heater. Received several quotes from various contractors. Fuse was the most cost-effective proposal. Quote included new Bradford White heater, new expansion tank (did not have one before), new gas supply line to the heater, new drain pan, new Corro-Protec powered anode to prevent corrosion, and city permit. Installation was smooth. Workmanship excellent. Passed inspection with no issues.

Henry and Alex did a fantastic job installing our new heat pump system! They worked hard over two days to get everything set up perfectly. They were punctual, professional, respectful of our home, and extremely knowledgeable. The new system is running great. Huge thanks to Henry and Alex for their hard work--I definitely recommend this team for your HVAC needs!

Update: In what I am pretty convinced was a total coincidence, shortly after the heat pump was installed our gas hot water heater stopped working. I couldn't find anything that the installer would have done to cause it since the symptom was that the gas flame would not stay on. I called Fuse to see what they had to say and within a hour two technicians came out to take a look. After a couple hours of troubleshooting they thought it might be the control board. Of note they didn't charge us for their time. The gas HWH was to be replaced by Fuse with a heat pump based HWH so it seemed silly to invest much effort. Unfortunately there wasn't one of their electricians available for a couple of weeks to install the needed sub-panel. On a follow up call to Fuse, I reminded them that we also have an EV charger in the garage that they might be able to temporarily "borrow" the circuit. The next day the team of Ronnie and Alex came out and installed the new HWH using the EV charger's circuit (having to use a public charger was a small price to pay to having hot water). Once again, a professional job with great attention to detail. Last week Zorik the electrician arrived as scheduled to complete the installation. He worked with me on where I would prefer the sub-panel be installed. Within a few hours, our EV charger was back in business. I appreciated that Zorik took the time to review what breakers were moved so that I could update my records. I was confident that the job (and the others) were all were properly compliant with the building codes. Worth noting, the technician from an independent company came out to do the duct work testing (which passed). As he was leaving the subject of Fuse came up. His comment was that they are the best in the Bay Area.
