Nobody thinks about a toilet until it lets you down at the worst possible moment: it wobbles on the floor, keeps flushing in a loop, or just looks like it’s from a bygone era. The Fuse Service team handles toilet installation in San Jose every day and knows that a good installation is a definition of checking every detail from the bottom up, from the flange to tightening the bolts.
Fuse Service is a licensed and insured company that has been serving San Jose and the entire Bay Area for many years. Give us a call if your old toilet is starting to give out. We’ll arrive, assess the situation on-site, and offer a solution without any unnecessary explanations or extra charges.
Toilet Installation and Replacement Work We Handle
We handle the full range of services, from replacing a single part to a complete installation of new plumbing fixtures in a home or commercial space.
Toilet Replacement
Base leaking? Tank cracked? Or the whole thing just looks like it’s from another century? Any of those is a good enough reason to call about a toilet replacement in San Jose. Our crew pulls the old unit, takes a real look at the floor and drain line underneath it, then sets the new toilet with a leak-proof guarantee behind the work.
New Toilet Installation
Gutting the bathroom, or just adding a second one? Either way, new toilet installation isn’t as simple as it looks. Bowl height, distance from the wall, flush type — get one of those wrong and you’ll be calling us back within a year.
Commercial Toilet and Flushometer Installation
Offices, restaurants, stores… All commercial buildings need plumbing fixtures that can withstand heavy use. We install and maintain flow meters, in addition to helping you select models designed for high-volume use.
Toilet Installer You Can Actually Reach
Finding a reliable toilet installer is a challenge in itself. Fuse Service handles not only the installation but also provides consultation on which model to choose, how much it will cost, and how to handle the necessary permits.
When a New Toilet Makes More Sense Than Another Repair
Sometimes the fifth service call to a plumber ends up costing more than just buying new plumbing fixtures. That’s when replacement makes more sense than repair.
Age of the Model
Toilets older than 20–25 years often lack the energy efficiency of modern models. Water consumption in older tanks can be several times higher than WaterSense standards.
Frequent Leaks
If water keeps appearing at the base, the problem is usually not with the gasket. Instead, it’s likely due to cracked porcelain or a damaged flange. In this case, repairs are only a temporary solution.
Increase in Water Bills
Water constantly running in the tank is a classic sign of wear and tear on the mechanism. Sometimes it’s cheaper to install a new model than to replace parts every six months.
Cracks and Chips
Any damage to the ceramic requires a complete replacement. A cracked toilet cannot be repaired; it must be removed.
What Happens During a Toilet Installation Visit
Step 1 — Inspection and Disassembly
First, the plumber takes a look at what's already there and shuts off the water. Then the old toilet comes out — carefully, so the floor underneath doesn't take any damage.
Step 2 — Checking the Flange and Drainage System
This is the step most people skip, and it's usually why toilets fail again a year later. A cracked or shifted flange won't show up right away — it'll show up as a leak six months from now. So we check it before anything else goes in.
Step 3 — Installing the New Model
Our techs put the new toilet on a wax ring, level it, and securely fasten it to the floor. They connect the water supply and check the connections for leaks.
Step 4 — Final Testing
A few test flushes, a leak check at the base and at the joints, cleaning up the work area and voila, the visit is complete.
San Jose Permits for Toilet Replacement and Bathroom Work
A simple, identical replacement of a toilet usually does not require a separate permit from the city. However, if the layout of the plumbing fixtures or the piping is changing, or if you’re undertaking a major bathroom renovation, you’ll need a permit from the San Jose Building Division. We’ll help you determine which scenario applies to you and, if necessary, handle the paperwork for you.
A Real San Jose Toilet Replacement
Here are a few more examples of the jobs we handle: from the whole house repiping to the installation and replacement of water heaters. We handle a wide range of projects. Minor repairs? No problem! A complete renovation of your plumbing systems? We’re on our way!
A brand’s reputation is built on the details. Deadlines, fair prices, and results that still hold up a month later… Everything on this list matters.
Experience and Licensing
Our company has almost a decade of experience in the Bay Area. Fuse Service is a licensed and insured company with professional plumbers on board.
Transparent Pricing
We provide a quote before starting any work. That’s why you shouldn’t worry about any unpleasant surprises on the final bill.

We're just about to have our heat pump and new water heater installed, so I can't speak to that experience yet, but I had to say how helpful their sales rep, Jeff, was with all of my questions to get settled into a plan. I'm one of those people who like to know what's going on line by line, and his patience and knowledge was very appreciated!

I had a need to replace our 50G gas water heater. Received several quotes from various contractors. Fuse was the most cost-effective proposal. Quote included new Bradford White heater, new expansion tank (did not have one before), new gas supply line to the heater, new drain pan, new Corro-Protec powered anode to prevent corrosion, and city permit. Installation was smooth. Workmanship excellent. Passed inspection with no issues.

Henry and Alex did a fantastic job installing our new heat pump system! They worked hard over two days to get everything set up perfectly. They were punctual, professional, respectful of our home, and extremely knowledgeable. The new system is running great. Huge thanks to Henry and Alex for their hard work--I definitely recommend this team for your HVAC needs!

Update: In what I am pretty convinced was a total coincidence, shortly after the heat pump was installed our gas hot water heater stopped working. I couldn't find anything that the installer would have done to cause it since the symptom was that the gas flame would not stay on. I called Fuse to see what they had to say and within a hour two technicians came out to take a look. After a couple hours of troubleshooting they thought it might be the control board. Of note they didn't charge us for their time. The gas HWH was to be replaced by Fuse with a heat pump based HWH so it seemed silly to invest much effort. Unfortunately there wasn't one of their electricians available for a couple of weeks to install the needed sub-panel. On a follow up call to Fuse, I reminded them that we also have an EV charger in the garage that they might be able to temporarily "borrow" the circuit. The next day the team of Ronnie and Alex came out and installed the new HWH using the EV charger's circuit (having to use a public charger was a small price to pay to having hot water). Once again, a professional job with great attention to detail. Last week Zorik the electrician arrived as scheduled to complete the installation. He worked with me on where I would prefer the sub-panel be installed. Within a few hours, our EV charger was back in business. I appreciated that Zorik took the time to review what breakers were moved so that I could update my records. I was confident that the job (and the others) were all were properly compliant with the building codes. Worth noting, the technician from an independent company came out to do the duct work testing (which passed). As he was leaving the subject of Fuse came up. His comment was that they are the best in the Bay Area.

Schedule Toilet Installation in San Jose
It only takes a couple of minutes to submit a request. Tell us what’s going on with your toilet, and we’ll get your toilet installation in San Jose on schedule as soon as we can.
It varies more than people expect. A basic swap with a good flange underneath costs a lot less than a job where we open up the floor and find rot or a cracked pipe. Share with us a couple of photos of the current setup, or let one of our guys stop by, and we’ll quote you something you can actually count on.
Most jobs, we’re in and out in under two hours. The wildcard is what’s under the old toilet — if the subfloor’s soft or the flange is broken, that adds time. We won’t know for sure how much time does toilet replacement in San Jose take until we pull the old one up.
Twenty-plus years old, cracked ceramic, or leaks that keep coming back no matter what gets fixed — at that point, repairing it again is just throwing money at a problem that isn’t going away.
Swapping one toilet for another in the same spot — no permit needed. Moving fixtures around or changing the layout is a different story, and that’s where a permit comes in. We’ll tell you which situation you’re in.
We can install both, and honestly, they’re worth it if you’re tired of watching the water bill creep up.
Sure, we work with commercial properties: offices, stores, restaurants… Almost all kinds of them. We also install and maintain flow meters.
Of course! Everything we do is covered by a warranty. The exact terms depend on the model of the plumbing fixture and will be explained before installation begins.
